Author:
das_mervinFandom(s): Twilight (Post-
Breaking Dawn)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 6,530
Inspiration: The Best Battle Never in
Breaking Dawn, the Cullens’ arrogant assumption that it was a sound defeat of the Volturi even though everyone did absolutely nothing but talk, and Meyer’s general inability to make a believable and convincing villain.
Warnings: None, except major spoilers for the entire Twilight Series.
Summary: “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” Aro heeded Napoleon’s words as the Cullens made their own fatal mistake—and intended to correct his own.
Author’s Note: Just a one shot; I originally just posted this on my personal LJ and FanFic.Net, but I figure, hey—may as well bring it here now. This is what I think happened when the Volturi went back to Italy. The title comes from the quote, “Wise men profit more from fools than fools from wise men; for the wise men shun the mistakes of fools, but fools do not imitate the successes of the wise,” by Cato the Elder.
