Title: Debate Fic 3: Lucien LaCroix vs. Aro di Volturi
Author: Melissa Treglia (aka
gnosticdiva)
Fandoms: Twilight/Forever Knight
Word Count: 917
Rating: PG
Inspiration:
marienomad's debate!fic series, obviously. I got into the act with a Nick vs. Edward fic, and continued with Natalie vs. Bella. Now here's the finale of the trilogy, featuring the series' respective Big Bads... as well as a special guest. Yeah, it's shorter than the other two, but good things come in small packages. ;)
Warnings: Brief violence. Some anti-human sentiments (as per Twilight's canon and LaCroix's POV in Forever Knight). Major spoilers for both series. A shout-out to one of my favourite anti-Twilight fics, and a bit of pop culture thrown in.
Summary: LaCroix pays a visit to the Volturi.
( You bore me. )

Born of Vampire and Human

Title: Born of Vampire and Human
Author: albion_witch
Fandom(s): Twilight: Breaking Dawn
Rating: A light PG
Word Count: 1398
Inspiration: Various discussions on what if Renesmee wasn’t born the perfect special little snowflake and instead was more monstrous-looking.
Summary: There is absolutely no way to predict how vampire and human genes are going to mix. Bella, just because vampires are beautiful to you doesn’t mean that when you mix them with humans, something equally beautiful will pop out. -Mervin, Breaking Dawn: Chapter 10 (part 1) sporking.
( This was not my golden red-haired boy or the chocolate-haired girl I used to be )

Story: Loose Canon: Following Too Closely by The Sound and The Fury
Timeline: Eclipse
Summary: What if Bella had called Edward on his behavior when he tailed her home from La Push? What might have happened if she actually stood up for herself? Bella/Edward the way it should have been.
Word Count: 9,606
Genre: Hurt Comfort/Romance
Reccer's comments: This is an interesting take on the scene involving Edward treating Bella like a possession. The characters developed and the relationship take on a deeper meaning.

Fair is Foul, and Foul is Fair

Title: Fair is Foul, and Foul is Fair
Author:
gnosticdiva
Fandom: Twilight
Rating: G
Word Count: 330
Inspiration: Twilight: 13. Confessions - "Edward in the sunlight was shocking." Shockingly inconsistent with the portrayal of vampires in every single thing ever, that is. But, it turns out that they'd be pretty badass if they referred to themselves as the creatures they actually resemble. Also, the title is taken from the first act of Shakespeare's MacBeth.
Warnings: None. This is quite likely the tamest thing I've ever written.
Summary: Jumping to conclusions can sometimes work in your favour.
( ''If she has mistaken us for vampires, then she has no idea what we really are.'' )

Title: Bloodlust

Fandom(s): Twilight
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1,665
Inspiration: Twilight, Chapter 16, as well as the fact that SMeyer's "scientific" explanation of vampires makes no sense
Warnings: Talk of disease effects; some discussion of human sexuality; potential brain damage from technobabble by a laymurloc
Summary: Carlisle explains the origins of vampirism to Bella--and shows her that it's not what she thinks.
( Bella's attitude in a whole new light... )

A House in Order

Title: A House in Order
Author: Me, your murloc truly
Book: New Moon
Genre: Standard drama
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,085
Inspiration: A bit of real life, and the objections of others to Carlisle's behavior
Warnings: Mild swearing
Author’s Note: I've been thinking lately of just how useless Carlisle is, as a character. He doesn't really do anything other than patch up Bella and serve as kind of a walking hub for the others, so to speak. Now, I realize that not everyone has to be a major player in a drama, but if Carlisle's supposed to be the Perfect Patriarch, he needs to be more active. This takes place after Bella is brought home from Italy.
( If only Carlisle could react logically... )

Author’s Note: And now...I kind of have to take on the religious bit.
As a note, blindsight is a real phenomenon, referring to a condition where a person can’t see objects in a certain part of their field of vision but is able to react to what’s there, just the same. It seemed to sum up how Bella reacts to other people’s thoughts and feelings.)
