Title: French Lessons
Author: Melissa Treglia (gnosticdiva)
Fandom: Fifty Shades Trilogy
Word Count: 4636
Rating: R
Inspiration: Mervin's spitefic Lucky Number Thirteen, wherein Ana gets some sense talked into her by Sharon, the submissive that Christian injured during a suspension scene... as well as the flurry of comments on [livejournal.com profile] das_sporking that resulted from the revelation that Christian keeps blackmail material of his former subs. Of fifteen subs, there HAS to be one that would not be threatened by such a shady tactic.

Warnings: Rated R for canon origins--includes disturbing canon themes, discussion/depictions of BDSM and related Lifestyle/kinks, implied stalking/gaslighting.

Summary: You've met Sharon, our lucky 13. Now meet Jacqueline Bouchard, former submissive #4.

He can be very harsh at times, in his way, but... I am told he has gotten worse since he was with me. )

Title: Fifty Shades of Debate
Author: Melissa Treglia ([livejournal.com profile] gnosticdiva)
Fandom: Fifty Shades Trilogy/Griffin Unbowed (homebrew)
Word Count: 2487 (for part one only)
Rating: R
Inspiration: You really have to ask? Well, I've done this before with the Twilight vs. Forever Knight Debate Trilogy, but I realized I hadn't done a Fifty Shades debate fic yet. Also, I wanted to see what my original characters (Laila and Griffin) would make of Ana and Christian. Especially as Griffin's got a (somewhat) similar backstory to Christian. Turns out, my two are less than impressed by the Greys (shocker). Incidentally, this quickly got more serious than your typical debate fic, so apologies in advance if you wanted the funsies.
Warnings: Rated R for canon origins--includes disturbing canon themes and some strong language.

Summary: Laila Chadevsky (from my and my-coauthor's original vampire novel Griffin Unbowed) vs. Anastasia Steele-Grey of the Fifty Shades trilogy.

Sex is always dirty if you do it right. )

Anyone else watch Criminal Minds? Because I recently got into the fandom and watching it has reminded me of Fifty Shades of Grey on more than one occasion. And not in a good way, if there even is such a thing.

Spoilers for the episodes will be put beneath spoiler cuts.

Fandom(s): Criminal Minds
Title: Season 4 Episode 14, "Cold Comfort"
Rating: R
What it reminded me of: Christian's wangst about his dead mother.
Warnings: Violence, character death, necrophilia, generally disturbing themes.
Summary: The BAU are called to a case where women are being abducted, killed and embalmed, with their bodies being held after death. The culprit is revealed to a man named Roderick Glass. He was pretty much raised by his nanny, who died suddenly while his parents were away. He was left with her body for several days, and would curl up and sleep beside it, draping its arm over himself. When he abducted women, he would force them into the role of his nanny before embalbing them and keeping their corpses to have sex with.

Bonus? It takes place in Washington state.

And if that isn't enough nightmare fuel, have another.

Fandom(s): Criminal Minds
Title: Season 7 Episode 20, "The Company"
Rating: R
What it reminded me of: Christian's bullshit contracts and, generally, how he treats Ana.
Warnings: Domestic violence, abuse, brainwashing, very heavily implied rape over a long time, abduction/imprisonment of children.
Summary: Morgan's sister believes that she sees their presumed-dead cousin, and calls Morgan and the team in to investigate. The sister is alive - she's just been held captive by a man for the last eight years. He's part of a group of men, all of whom are abusive degradations to the name of humanity, who keep women captive by two means. First is threats of 'The Company' and what they will do to the woman and her family should she try to leave; this 'company' is fictitious, but the women don't know that. Secondly, they have children with the women and then keep these children captive as, essentially, hostages for the women's behaviour. Throw in some bullshit contracts, a little bit of non-consensual physical violence, and immediate lawyering up in the face of a domestic abuse charge, and all I could see was Christian Grey.

A slightly less creepy bonus, but the actor who plays the perp in this one is awesome, and nowadays better known for The Walking Dead.

Title: Lions Eat Lambs
Author: Raggdolly
Fandom(s): Twilight/The Most Dangerous Game (implied)
Rating: R or NC-17, depending on how strong your stomach is.
Word Count: ~45,000
Warnings: Vampire violence, strong language, some sensuality.
Summary: "A camping expedition goes awry when Bella's friends disappear. While searching for them, she stumbles upon the manor of Edward Cullen, unaware that she is about to become a pawn in his dangerous game - a game she can't afford to lose. AU/OOC/Vamp & Human/"Darkward"" -- Raggdolly

Note from Reccer: I'm recommending this for those who prefer dangerous/nasty/bloodthirsty vampires, particularly those folks who find Edward's "vigilante" days more believeable than his love for Bella. If you believe Edward is a complete psycho and wished he'd just OWN THAT SHIT, this'll be right up your alley.

Title: Uncommon Monsters
Author: [livejournal.com profile] afterandalasia
Fandom(s): Twilight
Rating: M/R (For violence)
Word Count: 24,235
Inspiration: Leah Clearwater being awesome.
Warnings (skip) Graphic violence, OC character death, strong language. Discussion of morality. Imprinting appears but is not considered at length.
Summary:
"My name is Leah Clearwater. I'm a werewolf, and I kill vampires. It's a long story, twisted, downright fucked up. And this was where it nearly ended."

It may not be the best of lives, but at least Leah Clearwater has figured this one out: hunt down vampires, kill them, and move on. Don't expect thanks, and don't wait around for revenge.

But occasionally, things don't go to plan. Suddenly, Leah finds herself facing what might be the most rational vampire she's ever met... and too
late, she realises that might have distracted her from a far larger danger.

Sequel to 'To Catch a Monster', set two years later, but can be read independently.
Notes: More Leah Clearwater kicking ass, now with 200% more fight scenes. (Literally.) Although the story is self-contained, there is a third part to come and so some story threads are not fully tied up. These include: (skip) meeting Aro and what Aro wants with Leah, Julian's sister and the imprint.

I originally intended to continue to post the story here, but it got so long that became difficult. So I'm posting the link, having checked the rules to make sure that isn't disallowed.

Title: Lucky Number Thirteen
Author: Das Mervin
Fandom: Fifty Shades of Grey
Word Count: 10,210
Rating: PG-13 to R, depending on your sensibilities
Inspiration: The book in general, but mostly the part where Grey admits to legitimately hurting one of his subs by tying her up too tightly during a suspension scene
Warnings: Very frank and intimate discussion of BDSM lifestyle and kink
Summary: Anastasia Steele learns the difference between a slave, a sub, and a doormat.
Author’s Note: This one’s for you, Gehayi and Ket. I admit I had to fiddle with the timeline a little so this could work, but really, I don’t feel at all bad. E.L. James buttfucks a timeline worse than Stephenie Meyer does, and if you read my rants in Eclipse and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, you know that’s bad.

Characters: Renesemee, Jacob, Claire
Rating: R, for sexual themes
Genre: Drama/Family
Notes: This is a beautiful fanfiction that portrayes Renesemee as a much stronger female then her mother ever was. It shows the reality of what Renesemee's future will be if she doesn't do something quickly.

Title: To Catch A Monster
Author: [info]afterandalasia
Artist: [info]chosenfire28
Fandom(s): Twilight
Rating: R
Word Count: 10,622
Inspiration: Leah's incomparable awesomeness.
Warnings (skip) Graphic violence, character death, strong language. Discussion of imprinting, not taken to extreme lengths, which could be considered problematic.
Summary: Set a thief to catch a thief. To catch a monster...

Leah Clearwater knows that there are more dangerous things than her in the world than her, and she figures that it's her job to go out and fight them when humans can't. Then in one day, she gets in a fight, talks to a man, and meets a woman. Those aren't the sort of things that are usually exceptional, but this time they might just turn out to be. Perhaps it's time to remember that the word 'monster' was not always negative, and that there might be some hope still to come.

Disclaimer: Twilight is not mine, and I make no profit from this work.
Notes: This was actually produced for the [info]werewolfbigbang, but it was done with this comm in mind. On that note, I really want to thank the mod and artist [info]chosenfire28 and the last-minute beta Kitt who helped me with this.

Set a thief to catch a thief, the saying goes. It isn’t that old, in the way of things; perhaps three hundred years, perhaps four. There are some things that are far older.

The problem is, you see, that there are many dark things that walk the earth. Things that feed upon humans, directly or indirectly, that make men mad and tortured, that would destroy this world if given the change.

There are many monsters in this world.

Set a thief to catch a thief.

To catch a monster. . .
