Title: Too Easy
Author:

Inspiration: New Moon-when Bella, Edward, and Alice are talking to the Volturi in their chamber. I just really like writing the Volturi as the evil, ruthless vampires they should have been, so this is another Volturi justice type of fic.
Warning: Character Death
Summary: The girl wanted to be bitten so badly. Caius was more than happy to do it for her.

Caius sighed, already bored with the proceedings. The youngest Cullen boy had been there earlier, trying to convince Aro that he should be killed because his One True Love was dead. And that’s the way he said it, too, all caps-lock, like it was something epic.

Caius snorted. When Dracula’s love died, he declared war on God. When this boy’s love died, he made a suicide plea to the Volturi. Yet, he was still acting like his love was the greatest and truest love ever experienced by anybody in the world.

It had been getting on Caius’ nerves, and if the tightening of Marcus’ hand on his throne was any indication, it had pissed him off too. He had always been a little sensitive to issues of romance after Didyme. Only Aro had been interested in the boy’s pleadings.

Now, however, the boy was back again, with two females this time. One was his sister, the annoying pixie-like vampire that could see the future. The other was a human girl and Caius would bet that she was the boy’s One True Love. She was completely pathetic looking, clinging to the boy like he was her salvation. It was disgusting.

The boy was talking again (does he ever shut up?), trying to convince Aro to let them leave. It turns out the human girl hadn’t died after all, and she and the pixie had traveled all the way to Rome to stop the Volturi from killing the boy.

Did the stupid pixie honestly think that they would have let the boy walk out into the sunlight? Granted, most people would have just assumed the boy had on too much body glitter and wouldn’t have paid much attention to him. However, even if they did, the Guard was waiting in the shadows and would have dragged the boy back to the chamber no matter what. The Volturi knew how to protect their city and this one boy certainly wasn’t going to upset the balance between humans and vampires that existed here.

Caius looked at Aro, who seemed lost in thought after touching the pixie’s hand. He knew what that meant and he subtly motioned to Felix and Demetri to move a little closer to the three people in the middle.

Aro finally looked up. “Well, this has been a most extraordinary day, but I’m afraid it must come to an end.”

The boy, who had been trying to keep a polite look on his face, was suddenly snarling. “What do you mean?”

Aro looked unfazed at the boy’s angry look (it really wasn’t that impressive. Hell, Gianna could snarl better than him). “You know our rules. No humans are permitted to know of our existence. You broke that rule and now, we must deal with it.”

The pixie spoke up then. “You saw that Bella is going to be a vampire. Just give us a little more time.”

Caius growled, finally having enough. “This human has known of our existence for over a year, yet she is still human. You’ve had enough time.”

The boy was crouching now, trying to move into a position to both defend the human and attack the Volturi. He was honestly stupid if he thought it would work. Felix and Demetri both easily subdued the two Cullen vampires and dragged them to the sides of the chamber, leaving the girl unprotected in the middle.

Aro circled her, a mocking grin on his face. “Now, my dear, what to do with you? Kill you or turn you?”

Caius shot a sharp look at Aro. He did not want this human girl to be turned. She would make an awful vampire, probably following the Volturi around like a lost dog.

The girl looked hopeful, though. “You-you would really turn me? Make me as beautiful and powerful as you?”

It seemed that was all she wanted. So much for her One True Love.

Aro nodded thoughtfully. “Oh, yes. We could do it. It’s simple, you know. Just a quick bite and it’s done.”

The girl was looking at Aro with wide eyes, all thoughts of the boy and the pixie seemingly forgotten. “Oh, please do it. Bite me. I want to be like you.”

Aro smiled at her, a predatory grin that had Caius’ mouth turning up in response, though the girl didn’t seem to realize it. “Marcus, Caius, you heard her. Who wants the honor of biting the esteemed Miss Swan?”

Caius stood up, grinning. Oh, he was going to enjoy this.

“I’ll do it,” he said, slowly walking to the girl, who stupidly waited in the middle of the room, not realizing the danger that was approaching her.

The boy and the pixie were struggling now, but the girl paid them no mind. Her eyes were riveted to Caius as he stalked toward her.

As he came up to her, she tilted her head sideways, exposing her neck. He chuckled.

“You make this too easy, prey.”

And with that statement, he sank his teeth deep into her flesh and drained her dry.

They sure do play her like this. :-) Yep. The Volturri could be such brilliant villains... if SMeyer would have let them.

"You make this too easy, prey." Best final statement ever.

Book!Bella's an idiot and, if the Volturi really were as badass as they were supposed to be, this is what would've happened.
