Author’s Note: This is a complete crackfic. I came up with it last night when I was unable to sleep and my mind was racing. Then this thing just popped in my mind, and I almost shouted aloud BRILLIANT. This just had to be done.
As this is written from Bella's pov, prepare for stupidity.

As we walked north across the multihued stones toward the driftwood seawall, the clouds finally closed ranks across the sky, causing the sea to darken and the temperature to drop. I shoved my hands deep into the pockets of my jacket.
The sea had started to roll now, the huge waves breaking down to the shore. The air felt suddenly very cold, and there was a strange current in it – like electricity, so like the force I felt every time I were near the boy of my dreams. I glanced back to Jacob to find him gazing to the sea with a incongruous expression. There were salty spatters from sea on his russet skin.
A strong roar of thunder suddenly raged over our heads. The others were shouting that we should leave, but I could not move for some unknown reason. The sea had taken me under its inscrutable spell. The waters seemed to be boiling now, and there was the sound of earth itself moving, screeching in agony... And then there was something nearing the surface of the sea. Something, someone, was calling my name – not with a voice I could hear, but feel.
“Yes, Edward, I am coming”, I said, completely mesmerized. I started walking towards the sea, never noticing Jacob who tried to grab my arm. My love had come for me from the sea and nothing, certainly not this sillly boy, would prevent me from seeing Edward’s flawless face once again.
“Bella! What are you doing?” he yelped, trying to yank me back. But I was now by the water, and my feet were wet, but I did not care.
“Edward?” I asked, searching for the sign of my wondrous savior.
And then it broke the surface of the sea, and it was the size of a mountain, its wings spread as if it was going to take flight, and the tentacles of its face curling and twisting, dripping with dark waters it had risen from... I screamed as I took in this fathomless sight. Where was Edward? Where was the promise of incredible pleasures and timeless love?
“Bella, run!” Jacob’s voice called me from somewhere, but I could not move, for the creature was holding me with its ancient gaze. The sea was boiling around it and it looked like the sky would explode. Thunder whipped the earth once again as one of the creature’s long tentacles gripped me tight. I couldn’t even scream.
With a mighty gulp I was devoured.

The dark clouds disappeared to the horizon as if they had never entered the skies over La Push. The sea calmed down as the creature, obviously trembling with sudden cramps, dove back to the dark depths it had risen from. Soon the sun was shining again, but the young people at the beach were completely dumb-struck. Mike Nelson gazed at his friend, Tyler Crowley, with utter confusion.
“Dude, did Cthulhu just eat Bella?”
