Summary: Christian Grey decided to fuck with SAMCRO. It did not end well for him.
Notes: This takes place in season one of Sons of Anarchy, before episode seven. This means that Kohn the stalker is still in town. And yeah, the timeline’s off, but I really wanted Kohn to get a harsher beatdown than he did in canon. Borrowed Taylor’s ex’s name from “Bump in the Night.” Also, in future parts, there will be very crude language and graphic violence.
EDIT: SON OF A HANDBAG I TOTALLY GOT HIS FIRST NAME WRONG. Fixed now!
Prologue: Taylor
Jason Taylor could still remember riding with the men he’d hoped would become his brothers.
He’d grown up a Charming boy, both parents working full-time, and Mom going off with her men after Dad started his affair with the bottle. SAMCRO had been everything he wanted to be- tough, strong, powerful, family. So he signed up, became a Prospect, and then it all went to hell.
Them getting busted had been his fault. Jason knew that. He couldn’t remember the details, but he knew that. That was why Jason had decided to take the fall. That, and the fact that he was a Prospect, with no real ties to the club; if he took the fall the other guys would get home clear.
So he did. Told the Feds he was the one to shoot up the Mayans’ base. And instead of juvie, they sent him to military school and then on to kill people in the name of America.
Jason did his time for the government and got out as soon as he could. He met Laurie while on leave and fell head over heels, moving to Washington and marrying her, and then there was Sophie. They’d been a happy family until Sophie got sick and Jason got dumb enough to take Grey’s offer.
It became clear pretty fast Grey liked his staff unable to say “no” to him. When Jason had confronted him for his shit treatment of women, Grey had brought up Sophie, and the fact that what medicine could give could also be taken away. Gail, too, had been blackmailed into her work- she’d never told him exactly how, but her face always went dark when it came up. SAMCRO had been right about corporate interest in regular people's lives; it did nothing but shit for them.
Laurie couldn’t take what Grey was making him do, but it was do as he said or Sophie would pay the price. Laurie left him and took Sophie, and past the heartbreak, Jason could only be glad that Laurie and Sophie were further from Grey's grasp.
Jason just hadn’t realized that Grey was holding his hometown over his head as well until it was too late. Apparently, Ms. Steele hugging him had angered Grey, and Grey decided that, instead of hiding in the hotel seven minutes away, they’d go to California- to Charming- for Grey to plot his next business venture.
And Jason had to go, and be the corporate lackey, and betray the club, or Sophie would pay the price. And to make sure Jason knew that, Grey had made a phone call to Laurie and “convinced” her to let Sophie spend a few weeks in California with Jason.
But Grey was stupid enough to forget Leila, and to forget that his employees had a lot of reason to wish him dead. Grey would take him, Gail, Sophie, and Ms. Steele to Charming. But the only way he’d leave would be in a bodybag.
