Summary: Charlie meets Bella at the airport when Alice and Edward finally bring her back from Italy.



Charlie Swan was livid.

He'd been out of his mind with worry when he got home from the Rez to find his daughter ran off to fucking Italy without calling him or asking if it was even okay to leave. About two hours ago, Emmett Cullen stopped by the station and told him that Bella's plane was due to arrive in three hours and that Edward and Alice would be with her. To the kid's credit, he looked about as angry as Charlie did (honestly not knowing that his "sister" had dragged Bella off to Volterra) and promised to wait for him outside the security gate. There may have been a discussion on what Emmett was going to hit first on his brother when he saw him…


So there he stood with the entire Cullen clan (Emmett and Rosalie standing just a bit further away from the other three) standing to his left. Passengers were bustling through the security exit and Charlie shifted his crossed arms when he saw Bella head sandwiched between that idiot Edward and the tiny sister that Charlie trusted about as much as he could throw a truck.

He stopped caring about appearances and shouted from his rooted position. "ISABELLA MARIE SWAN!"

Rosalie jumped and smothered a smile at Bella's sudden blush.

Carlisle moved to intervene, but Emmett leapt forward to slam his palm against his adoptive father's chest. He didn't say a word—just shook his head and glowered from Carlisle to Edward. Esme, as usual, looked absolutely stricken.

"Charlie, I can explain…"

"Not right now. Don't you say a word to me right now—I'm so far past angry with you that I need you to be silent. First thing's first, I'm glad you're okay but you are grounded for the next six months. And before you open your mouth to complain I want you to really think about what you just did."

"Chief Swan, I don't think that—" Alice began.

"You? Stop talking. Stop invading my house. Stop hanging out with my daughter."

"Really, Chief, I think you should calm down for a moment," said Edward. In his peripheral vision, Charlie saw Carlisle and Esme nod in agreement.

"Calm down—I should calm down? Kid, you must have nuts the size of softballs to tell me to do anything because you are the reason my daughter hopped onto a plane without telling me and left the damn country. Now get your hands off my daughter."

Edward didn't move. Emmett, however, did.

The taller young man snagged the back of Edward's neck in one hand and slammed his knee in the kid's diaphragm hard. He didn't offer up any explanation for this beyond: "You are a fucking idiot."

"Edward!"

"Seven months, Isabella! Go get in the car now before you get yourself a whole year," Charlie snapped.

Emmett, done with his task, motioned for Rosalie to follow him outside and tipped an invisible hat to Charlie.

Charlie waited until he saw Emmett and Rosalie lead Bella into the back seat of the cruiser before he laid into the five pale individuals staring at him.

"I am dead serious about this. None of you, especially you two," he pointed at Alice and Edward, "are to come anywhere near my daughter ever again. Alice, if I catch you on my property again, I am arresting you for trespassing. I don't ever want to see any of your faces ever again. Go back to Alaska. Get the hell out of my town. And leave my daughter alone."

With that, Charlie Swan stormed outside to deal with Bella.

Again with the Charlie love! :-D He could have been so much more if SMeyer would just have let him! He is so awesome. A cop, for gawds sake! This is how he is supposed to react!
