I've been going back and rereading a lot of these -- watching Scoobynatural led me back to The Wedding Crashers, which had me looking up this site again -- and rereading GUC was a bit of a small revelation.
Unlike the actual Twilight, GUC made Edward actually *sound* and *act* Edwardian and "from another time", as Meyers puts it. Two people goofing around in chat and having mindless fun with Twilight did what Meyers's actual writing failed at.
