Title: Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing
Author:
das_mervin
Fandom(s): Twilight
Rating: G
Word Count: 190
Inspiration: Written in response to Edward’s constant and contradictory statements of how dangerous it is for him to be around Bella, and yet how he absolutely cannot leave her alone because she’s in too much danger without him.
Warnings: NONE
Summary: Come here, go away, come here, go away. Bella finally gets a little tired of all that nonsense.
I stared at him for a moment, my eyebrow raised. “So you still believe that our being together is a bad idea?” I asked, keeping my voice even.
He looked back up at me, his face grave. “Absolutely,” he replied.
I leaned forward. “So why did you follow me all over Port Angeles? Why do you follow me all over school? Why do you pick me up every day at my house? Why did you all but force me to let you take me to Seattle? Why are you trying to leave it to me to cancel our date tomorrow instead of doing it yourself?”
Edward blinked, rather taken aback at the rapid-fire questions. He seemed to deliberate for a moment, and then gave a smug but tight smile. “I thought it was my day to ask questions,” he said—only sounding slightly forced.
I snorted in disgust. “Look, I’ll just be blunt—you can either stop with the Bad Boy attitude, or you can stop following me. Take your pick. And hurry up about it—I need to know if I’m gonna have to make some different plans for Saturday.”
