Fic: False Starts

Title: False Starts
Fandom(s): Twilight
Rating: General audiences
Word Count: 267
Inspiration: Das Mervin's sporking of Eclipse Chapter 1. "I ask you, dear readers, WHO THE FUCK SENDS A LETTER LIKE THAT? ... Really, that just makes his whole note look awful, and casts Jacob in a terrible light—because all it does is make his note look like the most passhole-aggresshole thing ever, and just trying to guilt-trip Bella instead of taking a stand or making a point." So, I tried to figure out what was going through Jacob's head to make him do that.
Warnings: Absolutely nothing.
Author's Notes: I know, there's already a story based on Jacob's note, but... [shrugs]
Summary: Thinking of what he wants to say is easy. Thinking of something Bella will pay attention to, on the other hand...

Bella,

I don't know why you're making Charlie carry notes to Billy like we're in second grade - if I wanted to talk to you I would answer the

No. She'll just start calling more, screaming about how I'm not being fair, not giving her a chance.

You made the choice here, okay? You can't have it both ways when

No. I've told her this over and over - she's not going to suddenly understand just because it's written this time.

What part of 'mortal enemies' is too complicated for you to

No, letting her see how mad I am that she doesn't understand just makes her shrink in on herself like a puppy - and she's got about as much idea of what's wrong as a puppy, too.

Look, I know I'm being a jerk, but there's no way around

I am not going to say it's my fault. It's not.

We can't be friends when you're spending all your time with a bunch of

No. Why is it so hard to find a way of saying this that she'll read long enough to get the point?

It just makes it worse when I think about you too much, so don't write anymore

That's just asking for her to try and wear me down.

Yeah, I miss you, too. A lot. Doesn't change anything. Sorry.

Jacob

...She'll read that, but it doesn't say anything. Ugh. Maybe if I send this with the earlier ideas crossed out, she'll pay some attention to them as well? I can't think of any other way to get through to her...
